Mickie Fussell passed away on Sunday morning March 21, 2021, and entered into eternal glory with Andy, her husband of 48 years, by her side. Born to Bud and Bonnie (Jerles) Schrack on May 25, 1950 in Pensacola, Florida, Mickie graduated from high school in Southern California and attended Cal State at Fullerton. She became a Christian as a young adult and was a lifetime follower of Jesus. After moving to Ohio she married Andy Fussell in 1972 and together they enjoyed being counselors for their church youth group in Canton. Mickie was employed at Nationwide Insurance Company until their son, Kevin Michael Fussell, was born in 1977. She was a devoted mother for 44 years for their son with special needs, Kevin, who said, "She was a good mom!" After Kevin started school, she began a part time career as a billing specialist for a psychologist; a career which spanned 39 years. She enjoyed acting in plays at Malone University, crocheting lap robes for the elderly and baby blankets for the needy, and hosting a women's prayer group. She also enjoyed gardening and canning, and loved to cook for everyone who entered their home. Mickie's humor was enlightening and she loved using humor to lift everyone's spirits. She was great at remembering everything, so much so that many had to watch what they said! She was exceedingly generous and committed to her family and extended family, treating them as her own, traveling to see them and always remembering special days with meaningful gifts.
Mickie was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Wendy Fox.
Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband Andy, son Kevin, sister Susan Chunn, father-in-law G.H. Fussell (Nancy), aunt Jan Folsom, sister-in-law Georgia George (Rich), brother-in-law Barry Fussell (Jane Palmer), nieces Rachel, Mara, and Andrea, nephews Toby and Michael, six grand nieces and nephews, many cousins, her women's prayer group and a host of friends.
