Jacqueline Hughes was born December 24, 1924 to Joanna & Joseph Vaught. She graduated valedictorian from Lincoln High School. She was married to the love of her life, Courtland Hughes. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, her brothers Joseph Vaught & Sanford Vaught. She’s survived by her brothers; Leroy, Russell & Roger Vaught, two daughters; Vicki Lynn Witmer (Mike Martin) & Janet Cameron (Roger), Grandchildren; Joanna Williams (Taylor), Bryan Cameron, Michael Cameron (Andrea), Sherri Barth Mike), John Witmer, and Cindy (Randy) Faulkner, Great-Grandchildren; Courtland Faulkner, Noah, Gracie, Hopie Williams, Ellie, Emi Jo Cameron and Becca, Michael & Jake Barth. In her younger years she worked at Belden Brick as a secretary. Her passion in life was doing the Lord’s work volunteering at Israel’s Masionic Fellowship for many years. She also served as an alter worker, prayer team member & children’s Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church and Trinity Gospel Temple. She also attended Whipple Heights church for many years enjoying hearing her grandson-in-law, Taylor Williams, preach. She was always extremely generous regardless if the person deserved it or not, just like how God’s grace treats us. She was the spiritual matriarch of her family & had such an on fire love for Jesus, that anyone that knew her could see it & feel it as she was always witnessing for the Lord. She was the strongest woman we knew; loyal and loving. She was the fiercest prayer warrior, most joyful dancing worshipper, and charismatic Christian. She was uniquely beautiful and strong to the very end.

Private services will be held.

Interment will take place at Forest Hill Cemetery.

We want to thank all the loving nurses & aides at Canton Christian Home for the wonderful care they gave. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in her name to the Benevolent Fund at Canton Christian Home
