Carole Ann D’Aurora was born on June 28, 1952. She died at Mercy Hospital from medical complications on Wednesday May 15, 2019. She was the second of the three children of Arsilia and James D’Aurora, Sr. Her parents preceded her in death.
Carole attended St. Joan of Arc Grade School, graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1970. She earned an Associates of Arts Degree in 1974 from Cuyahoga Community College in Cleveland, Ohio. She specialized in Community Mental Health. She was employed by Nist Geriatric Nursing Home of Louisville, Switchboard Drug Center of Massillon, the Stark County of Drug Abuse in Canton and the Crisis Intervention Center of Canton.
Later in her life Carole experienced numerous illnesses, which she confronted with courage and dignity. She had a sharp sense of humor, a laughter which was contagious, and a keen sense of how to get others to laugh. Carole believed in prayer and would often pray for her nieces and nephews.
She was a resident of the Mayflower Manor Apartments for 17 years in which she had many friends who loved her. She contributed to that community, by her presence and by her work with the Coffee Club.
Carole is survived by her brother, James J. D’Aurora, Jr., Ph.D. (Denise) of Eden Prairie, MN and her sister Lisa M. Putkovich (Michael) of Grand Rapids, MI. She has four nephews, Andrew D’Aurora of Brooklyn, NY, Zachary, Nathaniel and Alex Putkovich of Grand Rapids MI. and two nieces, Elizabeth D’Aurora and Michaela Putkovich of Grand Rapids, MI. She will be dearly missed by her aunt and uncle, Angelina and Eugene Rice of East Canton. She is also survived by her first cousins, Paul Rice (Ann), Claudia Sell (Harry), Sharon Taylor (James), Alison Knebl (James), David Rice (Vickie) and Joseph Lombardi, Richard Mancini (Sherry), Antonia Mancini, Sandra Rossetta (Bob), Sam Dorto (Pam), Karen Sheeley, Anna Marie Strauss (Kurt), Kathy Bollen (Bruce) and John Nemeth.
The visitation will be Sunday May 19, 2019 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Reed Funeral Home (705 Raff Road, Canton, OH 44710.) The funeral will be on Monday May 20, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Reed Funeral Home with Fr. Edward Beneleit officiating. The burial will be at Calvary Cemetery (3469 Lincoln Way West, Massillon, OH.).
