Lenora Dwan Sherrell, age 47, passed away peacefully on Saturday February 9, 2019 at University Hospital in Cleveland Ohio after a long battle against breast cancer.
She was born April 10, 1971 in Canton Ohio to Joe and Ruth. She graduated in 1989 from Canton McKinley Senior High School. She was a loving mother and homemaker who realized the value and importance of her role and took tremendous pride in bringing comfort and stability to her family. That care also extended to those outside of her home. In her early years, Lenora worked for various assisted living facilities caring for the developmentally challenged. Upon her 2011 breast cancer diagnosis she became a member of the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Society.
Lenora truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures like chatting with family and friends, spending time with children and watching her morning game shows. She loved everyone's children and took pride in assisting other mothers. She was truly an amazing mother, daughter, sister and best friend. Lenora had a soothing voice you couldn't help but listen to.
She is survived by her four daughters Tatumn and Courtney Sherrell, Nina and Nicci Nimley; grandson Zaiden Sherrell; her parents, Joe and Ruth Sherrell; grandmother Janie Mae Sherrell; sisters Carmelita (Marcus) Anderson, Tiffany Elliott, Jomika (Lawrence) Jackson; brothers Troy Vasser, Christopher Stevenson, and Jovon Sherrell; nephews Terrel Brown, Jordan Jackson; niece Aurora Sherrell; great-niece Taniyah Brown; aunts Barbara Ann (Smitty) Smith, Bobby (Rosie) Sherrell, Sadie Jones, Diana Cunningham, Cathy (Vic) Asberry, Edith (David) Garrison; cousins Jasper Gordon, Shanea Campbell, Sanathan Byrd, Shawn Asberry, Rhonda Byrd, Anna Asberry, Jermaine Asberry; and god children Malcolm Carter Jr. and Major Jones; friends Donald Palmer, Caren Finn, Faliesha Elder.
She was proceeded in death by her great grandmother Eddie Lee Harris, grandmother Mattie Ruth Gordon, grandfathers Ulysses Sherrell, Robert Byrd Sr.; aunt Debra Jackson; cousins Terrell Byrd, Chauncey Sherrell, and Chabreya Campbell; friend Curtis Hall
Visitation will be held Monday from 10:0AM to 11:00AM at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church (821 O'Jay's Parkway NE Canton) where services will be held at 11:00AM with Pastor Hubert Carpenter officiating.
Interment will take place at North Lawn Cemetery.
