Thomas P. Halter, 90, passed away on January 11, 2019. He was born on November 25, 1928 the son of Raymond & Helen Halter. Thomas proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He retired from the United States Postal Service with 34 years of service. In 1996 he was elected to Greater Canton Bowling Hall of Fame. He had many achievements but his greatest was his love for his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Steven Halter; granddaughter Jennifer Halter; and brother Larry Halter.
Thomas is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 66 years, Ethel Halter; son Jeffrey (Denise) Halter; grandchildren Michael Halter, and Amanda (Luke) Klammer; great-grandsons Weston and Gunner; and beloved sister-in-law Helen (Joseph) Armstrong.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 9:00AM to 10:00AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church (2427 Tuscarawas St W.) where a Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00AM with Msgr. Frank Carfagna as Officiant.
Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery.
