Frank J. Gerstenslager, age 74 of Canton, OH. quietly passed away on Sunday, November 25th with family while being loved and listening to Christian music at Mercy Medical Center following an extended illness.
Welcoming him with open arms: his parents Myron and Cecila and his daughter Tonya Bradshaw who passed away in June of 2000.
Frank is survived by his older brother Myron Jr. and Frank’s following sons Frank Jr. and Brian with the following grandchildren from Frank & Debra, Keanu 20 and from Brian, Kevin 18, Marissa 13, Tyler 11, Elijah 7 and Cecila 6 and from Tonya, Michael 30, Jimmy 28, Jeremy 27 and Paul 26. He enjoyed his niece Penny and nephews Chad and Chip.
Frank graduated from Glen Oak High School, worked at Republic Steel for seven years before going to General Motors manufacturing in Lordstown, Ohio and worked the next 32 years where he achieved much success as a leader. He retired early in 2002 to raise his daughter’s children Mike, Jimmy, Jeremy and Paul. He loved his dogs, the freedom of his motorcycle, a game of billiards and light heartedly joking around. He will be forever missed.
Calling hours will be Sunday, Dec 9th from 3 - 5 PM at Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel 705 Raft Rd. SW.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, Dec 10th at 11 AM at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church,3430 St. Michael Dr. N.W. Entombment will follow at North Lawn Cemetery.
A celebration of Frank's life and a luncheon will be held at the Reed Funeral Home Family Center following services.
