Richard E. "Dick" George, age 89, a life long resident of Canton passed away June 13, 2018 after a brief stay at St. Luke's Lutheran Community. He was born February 10, 1929 to his parents, the late, Herbert and Helen (Hall) George. Dick graduated from McKinley High School and served in the United States Army 101st Airborne Division during the Korean War. He was retired from Harrison Paint Company where he had been manager of their Massillon store. Dick was a loyal and loving husband, father and grandfather.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bill George; a sister, Barbara Esber and a cousin who was like a sister, Mary Flagg
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sally (Papadeonise) George; son, Denis (Alice) George of Cincinnati; daughters, Joni Teitel of Royal Palm Beach, FL and Lori (Dean) Pudoka of Green; grandchildren, David Teitel, Christyal, Raitchel and Maria Pudoka; great granddaughter, Adalyn; brother, Don (Mary) George and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Monday June 18, 2018 at 11:30am at Reed Funeral Home NORTH CANTON Chapel with Pastor Thomas Houston officiating. Calling hours will be two hours prior to services from 9:30am to 11:30am at the funeral home. Burial will follow services at Forest Hill Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to either St. Luke's Lutheran Community, Mercy Medical Center Home Health & Hospice, American Diabetes Association or the Alzheimers Association.
