John "Jack" W. Cross age 78 of Louisville, formerly of Canton and Bushnell, FL passed away on October 22, 2004 in Richmond, Virginia. He was born on October 15, 1926 in Tiffin, OH to the late Waldo and Frances Cross. He served in the 79th. Battalion of the US Navy during WW II, where he was a member of the Naval Construction Force (SeaBees). He was involved in the Pacific theatre of WW II and was awarded the Purple Heart, American Area Ribbon, Asiatic Pacific Area Ribbon, and the World War II Victory Medal. Upon Returning from the war he earned his College Degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University. He was employed by the Goodyear Co. working in the Aerospace Dept. and retired after 38 years. He was a member of the North Canton Eagles. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Eleanor on October 2, 1994. He is survived by his three children; John Jr. (Sue) Cross of Cuyahoga Falls, Susan (Bill) Bartlett of Louisville, and Tim Cross of Canton. He is also survived by six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday November 6, 2004 at 2 P.M. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Raymond L.
