Walter G. Fox age 80 of North Canton passed away Saturday morning in Aultman Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Canton, Ohio on March 15, 1922 he was a veteran of World War Two, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a retired Manufacturing Engineer, for the Babcock & Wilcox Co., retiring in 1984 after 20 years of service. He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Louisville and a former member of the Louisville Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife, Irmina "Amy" Fox of the home, to whom he had been married for 59 years. Four children and their spouses; Dennis and Joanne Fox of North Canton, Gerald and Carol Fox of Massillon, Barbara and Joseph Bajornas of Canton and Daniel and Debra Fox of Morgantown, WV. His brother, Richard Fox of Canton. Eleven grandchildren, Scott, Joseph, Ronald, Lori, Jennifer, Eric, Michael, Jason, Christopher, Conner and Trevor and two great grandchildren, Cameron and Brook. "He was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather and a helping friend to many".
A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday September 14, 2002 at 10:30 a.m.
in St. Paul's Catholic Church in North Canton with Rev. Msgr. James Clarke, celebrant. There will be no calling hours as his wishes were to be cremated. The Reed Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Habitat For Humanity.
