Sharon P. Miner, age 58 of Canton passed away Thursday morning at Mercy Medical Center following an extended illness. Born in Mannington, WV, on Sept. 21, 1946 to the late Francis and Bess (Starkey) Fluharty. Sharon was retired from Aultman Hospital after ten years of service as a nurse's aid. She was an avid collector of angels and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Ronnie Miner, two brothers, Cecil and Raymond Fluharty, a sister, Kay Jones, a granddaughter, Ronnie Milini, and a grandson, George Emerson Nenning. Survivors include her three sons, Emerson A. Miner of Canton, Larry (Brenda) Miner of E. Canton, Kurtis Miner of Canton; her longtime companion, Les Stalder of Canton. There are 11 grandchildren, three brothers, three sisters, and many nieces and nephews also surviving. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Henry Dettweiler officiating. Burial will be in Mapleton Cemetery, East Canton. Calling hours will be on Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to the Reed Funeral Home to help family defray expenses.
