Ruby G. Simmons age 84 of Canton, Ohio passed away Monday morning in the McKinley Life Care Center following an extended illness. Born in Fairmont, W.Va. on October 5, 1917 she had been a resident of Canton since 1961. She had worked at various restaurants in the Canton area and was a member of the Pentecostal Assembly Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry T. Simmons who passed away November 11, 1983 and also by three brothers, Clarence, Wayne and Paul DeVault and three sisters, Edna Robinson, Mildred Brennaman and Madeline Miller. She enjoyed her grandchildren and as her hobbies, she enjoyed going to garage sales, cooking and traveling.
Survivors include two sons and daughter-in-law, Harry J. Simmons of the home. Dale and Judy Simmons of Warren, Ohio. Two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty L. and James Webster of Wilkes-Barre, PA. and Phyllis and Tom Shelosky of Fairmont, WV. There are ten grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Webb Parsons officiating. Burial will be in the Mausoleum at North Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home on Wednesday evening 7-9 p.m.
