Raymond E. Widmer, age 81 of Navarre, OH, passed away Sunday evening at Altercare of Navarre following a brief illness. Born in Navarre, OH, on March 5, 1925, the son of the late Emil and Tillie Widmer. Ray was a veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII , and was stationed in Japan as a X-ray technician. He was a retired carpenter from Al Michael Construction Co. after over 30 years of service. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ella Widmer, two sisters, Helen Howard, and Margaret Essig. Survivors include his two daughters, Sue (Richard) Kincaid of Navarre, OH, Sharon Widmer of the home, two granddaughters, Shannon (John) Tomlinson of Hickory, NC, and Stacy Kincaid of Los Angeles, CA; four great grandchilden, Grace, Claire, Jack, and Charlie Tomlinson. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m. in East Union Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Deana Reed officiating. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Reed Funeral Home-Canton Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
