Obituary

Our beautiful mother, Marian R. Miller, entered the arms of her beloved Savior on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 after a life of service to her family, her church and her Lord. She was born Marian Ruth Nye on November 5, 1925 to Ruth and Percy Nye (both deceased) in Akron, Ohio. She cherished her 58 years of marriage to Kenneth S. Miller (deceased 2005). Marian resided in Akron, Massillon, Silver Lake Village and Canton, Ohio. She and Ken were active members of the Chapel in Akron and after retiring to Canton were faithful attenders of the Canton Grace Brethren Church. They have one son, Ted Miller (Barbara deceased 2018) and one daughter Rebecca Swartz (Kevin), seven grandchildren, Steve Miller (Alexas), Michael Miller (Laura), Geoff Swartz (Becki), Andrew Swartz (Dr. Jamie), Corbin Swartz, Ja Swartz Benick (Charles), and Dottie Swartz Anstine (Scott). Their lives were rich with the blessing of 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her only sibling, Dorothy Nye Rouse. Marian was the pianist at many area churches and was faithful to share her music wherever needed. After working at Diebold, she became a school secretary in the Central Offices of Massillon City Schools and retired from that position. After retirement, she and Ken enjoyed many years camping, boating, and fishing on Lake Erie, in Michigan and in Canada along with senior bus trips through the Chapel in Akron. Her passion for Jesus Christ and His Word began as a teenager and charted each step of her life. Marian was known for her laughter and love that was fully extended to her family and all who knew her. Her witness of love continued in the last few weeks as she lived at St. Luke's Nursing Home. In a very short time, she had a reputation of loving kindness, appreciation and a sweet smile for those who were her caregivers. The family would like to thank St. Luke's staff for the happy times they contributed to the end of her life. Her care there was exceptional. Calling hours will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Reed's Funeral Home North Canton Chapel, 801 Pittsburg Ave. NW North Canton, Ohio 44720. An additional calling hour will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 14, 2019 at Canton Grace Brethren Church at 6283 North Market Canton, Ohio with her funeral service to begin at 11:00 a.m. Her pastor, Joseph Cosentino, will officiate there and at the interment to follow in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.

"Face to face, with Christ my Savior! Face to face, how can it be
