Ida Jane (Moreland) Fox, age 80, passed away in her home, in Navarre, OH, on Thursday, December 25, 2008, after an extended illness. Ida was born on May 28, 1928, in Carrollton, OH, to the late Sherman and Ethel Moreland. She resided many years in Carrollton before relocation to the Canton area, spending winter months in Plant City, FL; and moved to Navarre in 2006. Ida graduated from the Canton City School LPN Program in 1978 and received her Associate Degree in Nursing from Walsh College in 1986. She was employed at Aultman Hospital, retiring in 1992, and continued working as an RN at McKinley Life Care Center until 1995. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Massillon. Ida was an accomplished landscape artist and enjoyed traveling, playing Bingo, reading, sewing, crafting and spending time with family and friends. In addition to her parents, Ida was preceded in death by a sister, Ethel E. Meier; two step-brothers, Russell G. and Edward D. Piper; two granddaughters, Tiffany L. Ayers and Brandi L. Fox. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Leasure D. Fox of the home; three daughters, Judith A. (Jerry) Swiger of Navarre, Diana L. (Bryan) Slider of Canton and Susan A. (Lynn) Clark of Jeffersonville, IN; three sons, Steven D. Fox of Canton, Ronald A. (Debra) Fox of Sandyville, OH and Jeffrey C. (Becky) Fox of Rock Springs, WY; sister, Beatrice G. Emery of New Philadelphia, OH; two brothers, Sherman E. (Lillian) Moreland Jr. of Canton and Carl W. (Polly) Moreland of Canton; 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. The family wishes to offer special appreciation to Dr. Shruti Trehan, her staff and to Aultman Hospice. Family and friends will be received on Monday, December 29, 2008 from 5-8pm in the Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at 1pm in the funeral home with Pastor Herb Garnes officiating. Final resting place will be at the East Union Lawn Cemetery in Navarre.
