Edith Keck R.N., age 92, loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away Monday evening in Altercare of Hartville, following an extended illness. Edith was born September 18, 1912 in Alliance, OH, daughter to the late William and Mabel (Hale) Richards and had lived most of her life in the Canton area. She was a graduate of Louisville High School and was a registered nurse having worked in the surgery departments at Old Mercy Hospital and Timken Mercy Hospital. She was retired as office manager and assistant for Dr. John Botti, in 1980 following 17 years of service. She was also a member of Christ Presbyterian Church of Canton and her special love was football, especially Lincoln High School and the Cleveland Browns. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Raymond H. Keck, in 1988; two sons, Raymond and James Keck; Grandsons, Michael and Steven Keck, great-grandson, Josh Johnson, and sister Violet Linder. Survivors include her loving daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Fred Johnson; four grandsons, Kim Keck, Daniel (Christine) Johnson, Bradley (Kathy) Johnson, Douglas (Kimberly) Johnson and seven great grandchildren, James Keck, Brittany and Morgan Johnson, Angela Johnson, Tony Adams, Lyndsay and Zachary Johnson; a special daughter-in-law, Lois (Keck) Miller and her special friend and nurse, Tracy Snook. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude for the kindness and support received from the Altercare of Hartville, nurses, staff and special friends there. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Wendy Bausman officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Friday from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Saturday from 10-11 a.m. in the funeral home.
