Cecelia Sue (Baer) Tucker, daughter of the late Earl Clayton Baer and Mary Elizabeth (Hoffman) Baer, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2019 at the age of 74, with her family by her side. Sue was born in Canton on November 8, 1944 and remained a lifelong resident. She graduated from Canton Lincoln High School in 1962 and was active in the Canton Civic Opera, City of Flags Chorus, Canton Lincoln Alumni Chorus and the Aultman Generation Choir. She worked for several companies over her lifetime, most notably Ohio Bell and General Electric, from which she retired. Sue was a lifelong member of the First Church of the Nazarene of Canton and also regularly attended Crosspoint United Methodist Church of Massillon.
Sue is survived by her children Amy Steiner and her husband Jim of Massillon, David Tucker and his wife Kathy of Woodstock, GA; brother George C. Baer and his wife Peggy of Wilmington, NC; sister-in-law Deborah Baer of Charlotte, NC; as well as grandchildren, Erin Steiner, Jack Tucker and Clay Tucker and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Earl C. Baer Jr. and sister Christine J. Baer.
Gratitude is expressed to all the kind and caring individuals that provided comfort, compassion and friendship including Aultman Hospital, Crossroads Hospice and Palliative Care and her seemingly innumerable friends and relatives. She will be missed by all.
A celebration of Sue's life will be held at Canton Nazarene Church, 522 30th St. NW Canton, OH. at 2:00pm on Monday, February 18, 2019. Her family will receive visitors from 12:00-2:00pm, at the church, prior to the service.
