Bill Williams, age 90, of Canton passed away Saturday April 25, 2015. He was born July 1, 1924 in Canton, to his parents, the late, Michael and Katherine (Welling) Williams. He graduated from Timken Vocational High School. He retired from Republic Steel as head of the Tool and Die Engineering Department of Berger Division. Bill was a nationally ranked senior tennis player and participated in numerous city tournaments. He enjoyed traveling and collecting antiques and cars. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Mercy Medical Center Hospice program and the staff on 5th and 8th floors for all the tender care shown to them and to Bill.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bruce Williams.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Cleo (Clark) Williams; children, Bruce (Ann) Williams, Jeff (Phoebe) Williams, Rebecca Williams and Barbara Williams (Craig) Gates; grandchildren, Michele Bass, Ryan and Michael Williams, Lauren and McKenna Gates, two great grandchildren, McKayla and Christopher Cox.
