Amy Joanne Spayde, age 53, passed away peacefully into the arms of our Lord after a 15 month battle with liver cancer. Amy faced her diagnosis with courage, grace, and dignity. She always kept a smile on her face and was often the one to encourage others during her fight. She was a faithful member of the Hartville Church of Christ where she taught bible classes for years and ministered in the Lads to Leaders program. Amy grew up in Canton, Ohio and was a 1984 graduate of GlenOak High School. She then attended Michigan Christian College and earned her Bachelor’s Degree at Harding University. She worked for the Stark County Adult Probation for nearly 30 years and loved her job as an Office Manager. During her spare time she enjoyed scrapbooking & card making in her craft room and made a scrapbook for each of her 16 nieces and nephews, which they all treasure.
Amy was born in Akron, Ohio on July 19, 1966 to the late Lowell and Carolyn Spayde. She is survived by her siblings, Jeff (Megan) Spayde, Vicki (Rich) Barkan, and Nicole (Daniel) Styer as well as her beloved, furry companion Lucky. She was deeply loved by all her nieces and nephews Kevin, Chris, Kimmy, Chelsea, Lindsey, Elizabeth, Kayla, Drew, Adam, Ace, Kacye, Alyssa, Bradley, Seth, Teaonie, & Michael.
Due to the restrictions of large gatherings, a private graveside service will be held for the immediate family. A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date. Donations can be made in Amy’s name to the Aultman Compassionate Care Center at 2821 Woodlawn Ave NW Canton, OH 44708.
