Rita Mae (Gilbert) Klingaman, 84, of North Canton, passed away peacefully January 12, 2018, with her family by her side. She was born to the late Millard and Nellie Gilbert on December 21, 1933, in Louisville, Ohio. Rita graduated from Louisville High School where she was proud to be a majorette for all four years. In 1948 she met Vernon, and they fell for each other immediately. They married September 6, 1953, when he returned from military service. Rita's life was spent lovingly devoted to her husband and family, and they to her. She found so much pride and joy in her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her time spent vacationing with Vernon, and often times with the family, were some of her most cherished moments.
Rita was a long-time member of Community Christian Church, working on a number of committees there.
Along with her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her sister, Marilyn Schwitzgebel; and survived by her loving husband Vernon, daughter Nancy (Tom) Weber and son Thomas (Kim) Klingaman, grandchildren Erin, Kristin, TJ and great grandchildren Kourtney, Chase, Allyson. Rita is also survived by her sisters Donna (Rogers) Willett, Audrey Jeandrevin, brother Ronald (Kay) Gilbert.
The family would like to thank Mercy Hospital 8 Main and Mercy Hospice for their caring support.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00PM at the Reed Funeral Home (NORTH CANTON CHAPEL) 801 Pittsburg Ave NW North Canton.
Private Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Interment will take place at Sunset Hill Memory Gardens.
