William T. Lee Sr. of Canton finished his work on this earth, took off his cloak of the flesh and relocated to a far more glorious place on December 4, 2017. He was born to the late James and Roxie Lee on May 27, 1930 in Auvergne, Arkansas. William accepted Christ in 1957 at First Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Elder Finney, and was the Sunday School Superintendent. He was the head deacon at St. Paul Church of God in Christ and was also the founder of the Abundant Life Bible Study. He was the head arbitrator of the local labor union at the Timken Company and retired in 1992 after 40+ years of service. William's passions were the bible, his family and gardening. He was a member of Woodlawn Church.
William was preceded in death by his parents, his son William Jr., step-son Perry Haley, brothers; James Lee Jr. (Elsie), Isaac Lee (Cora), and Bobby Lee (Helen), sisters; Mary Martin (Charlie), Rose Starks (Elder Starks), Pearl Redden (Albert) and Ada Mae Lee.
He is survived by six loving children; Virgie (Robert) Proctor, Michele (Wiley) Currence, Terry (Lydia) Lee, Sharon (Gregory) Allison, Gary (Barbara) Lee and Pamela Lee, one sister Virginia Mike, 22 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandsons and Kathryn Lee.
