Edward McClellen Parson, 89, of Alliance passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2017. He was born August 7, 1928 in Franklin County PA. to the late Emery and Sarah Parson.
Ed retried from Sanese Services after 25 years of service and after his retirement he went to work as a school crossing guard for Canton City Schools.
He enjoyed bowling, working in his garden and playing BINGO. Ed was a very kind-hearted loving and understanding Christian. He was a 50-year member of Canton Baptist Temple and loved being a head usher an attending Sunday School.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife June; grandson, Michael Falcone and two brothers.
Ed is survived by his children, Doris (Ron) Geiselman, Dorothy Hubbs (Dan Hypes), Larry Parson and Christine Maze; five grandchildren, Michele, Theresa, Rob, Tisa and Briona; 11 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Alliance Community Care staff and Alliance Hospice staff for all of the love and support given to Ed and his family.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 15, 2017 at Reed Funeral Home North Canton Chapel, 801 Pittsburg Ave. NW North Canton Ohio 44720 from 6pm to 8pm and on Saturday, September 16, from 10am to 11am with services to follow at 11am with Pastor Jake Tovissi officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the American Alzheimer Association.
