Harold "Butch" Anstead
Butch Anstead, who was born on August 29, 1943 in Fremont Ohio, passed away on April 15, 2017 after a short illness. Butch was a 1961 graduate of Timken High School and a 30-year retiree from the Timken Company. Following retirement Butch worked at Legends Golf Course in Massillon for the last 15+ years. Butch was also an Army reserves veteran, serving as an active reserve from 1964 to 1975. He also served as a midget football coach for the Perry Midget Football League for several years.
Butch is survived by: his wife of 40 years, Luci, of Massillon, OH, daughter Lisa Little of Massillon, OH, Son, Vince Little of Mineral City, OH, two grandchildren; Samantha Little of Charlotte, NC and Nick Little of Cincinnati, OH, Sister Karen Woit and Husband Oscar "Spunk" of Perry Township, Sister Marion Baker and husband Richard "Dick" of Colorado, Brother-in-law Victor Pavona and wife Meredith of Akron, OH, Brother-in-law Charles "Chas" Pavona and wife Linda of Keller, TX, and a multitude of nieces of and nephews. Butch is also survived by his best friend of 62 years, Thomas "Tom" Buehler and wife Pat of Sterling, VA.
Butch was preceded in death by: his parents, Harold "Hap" and Lila Anstead, both from Freemont, Ohio, his in-laws Victor "Pete" and Josephine Pavona of Canton, OH and nephew Andrew Finley.
The family would like to give special thanks to Butch's care-givers at Aultman hospital, namely: Dr. Richard Jones, Dr. Friedlander, Dr.Bouserhal, Dr. Vemulapalli and all of the nurses in the Coronary Care Unit.
The family will receive visitors at Reed Funeral Home, 705 Raff Rd. SW, Canton, OH, 44710 on Friday, April 21, 2017 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm followed by a Eulogy beginning promptly at 7:30pm. A Private family burial on will occur on April 22, 2017.
In lieu of flowers, Butch's family requests a charitable donation be made in his name to the American Heart Association.
