Rose M. Albrecht, 86, of Canton, passed away on Monday, November 13, 2017 at the Canton Regency following an extended illness. She was born in Ligonier, IN on December 2, 1930 to the late Russell and Beatrice Ruth Maggart and earned her Associate's Degree from Kent State University Stark Campus. Rose was an active member of St. Stephen Martyr Lutheran Church, where she was a former member of the church council. She was a member of the North Canton Lady Elks, the Canton Women's Club, the Lady Shriner's and the Museum of Art. Rose enjoyed playing Bridge and played in many tournaments throughout the years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Albrecht on March 2, 2000; and her three brothers, Deloss, Herbert and Richard Maggart.
She leaves her children, Steven (Nita) Thellmann of Denver, CO, Paul Thellmann of Crestview, FL, Sara (Barrie) Masters of Sanford, FL, Lori (Mark) Failla of Columbus, OH and Luann Cheyney of North Canton; stepchildren, Connie Pearson and her family and Blaine Albrecht and his family; 13 grandchildren; and 27 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 11am at St. Stephen Martyr Lutheran Church, 4600 Fulton Dr. NW, with the Rev. Dr. Bruce R. Roth officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10-11am on Saturday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to the Mercy Medical Center Hospice Program.
The family thanks the wonderful staff at the Canton Regency and Mercy Medical Center Hospice Program for the loving care and compassion they provided for Rose and her family.
