Clara I. (Pullie) Davis, 93, went Home to be with the Lord on March 11, 2018. She was born on December 11, 1924 the daughter of Samuel & Sarah Truman. She was born in Sherrodsville, Ohio where she grew up and went to school in the twin city Dennison and Unrichsville, Ohio. She was a woman of great faith and excepted the Lord at age 7. Clara was baptized by Rev. Pitts of the Free Will Baptist Church in Uhrichsville. Some years later she was married to Edward L. Pullie. Four years later she, her husband and daughter moved to Canton, Ohio. She then became a member of the Thirteen Street Church of God under the Rev. Charles Heard. Clara was a Sunday school teacher and youth fellowship leader and sang in the choir until she married Ernest Davis 12 years after her husband's death and moved to Indianapolis, IN and became a member of South Calvary Baptist Church. For a short time sang and became president of the Usher Board Chorus, vice-president of the Sisters of Help, Sunday school teacher for 19 years and Pastor's Aid from 1993 to 2001 until she moved back to Canton.
Clara had a quick smile and big heart always willing to help others. She fondly called everyone "Sugar Foot" and will be missed greatly.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Edward Pullie and Ernest Davis; 8 siblings; and granddaughter LaCretia Camper.
Clara leaves to cherish her memory, daughter Jennie L. Chenault; beloved nephew Albert (Rosa) Truman; grandchildren Robert Camper, Sherri Chenault, David (Kimberly) Chenault, Shanetta (Joe) Ray, Tierra Chenault, Asia Chenault and Heavenly Chenault; 27 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 11:00AM to 12:00PM at the Reed Funeral Home (CANTON CHAPEL) 705 Raff Rd SW where services will be held at 12:00PM with Pastor Jeff Caldwell officiating.
Interment will take place at Forest Hill Cemetery.
